LIBRARY
At this stage, assistance with family history research at the Bendigo Library on Mondays between 11am and 3pm will be by appointment only.
Email the secretary at brgs2@hotmail.com with your details.
MEMBERSHIP
To become a member of our Society you are invited to fill out a membership request form and pay $25.00 which consists of an initial $5.00 joining fee and $20.00 annual membership fee for a single membership and $25.00 per year for a family membership.
This will entitle you to receive copies of our "Golden Links" newsletter which is published four times a year, and access to the many wonderful genealogical resources we have accumulated over the years. It also enables you to access our genealogical records which are held at the North Central Goldfields Library. Self research is free but volunteer researchers are available to help for a fee which is detailed in our Research link.
A print friendly membership application form can be sent to the Society with the appropriate level of payment and you can now pay your membership by Bank Transfer. Details are on the Membership Form.

RESEARCH
The Society will also undertake local research for those who are unable to visit the library in person. Contact the address above to request research from one of our volunteer researchers and remember to always enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with any correspondence to the Society. Fees are charged at thirty dollars ($30) for up to two hours of research - plus costs for photocopying etc. Payment must be included with the research request. All research is done by volunteers and any funds raised assist the society to purchase new records for the benefit of all researchers.
The Research Process Explained:
Once payment is received we will investigate either your specific queries or start at the beginning and check all records we use. We hold a good number of records pertaining to Bendigo and its suburbs and a little about surrounding country areas.
We do many hours of ongoing research and mail or email the information to you. If there is an excessive amount of photocopying we may request a further payment to cover this as we have to pay the library for the use of their photocopier. However, if we are unable to find anything or very little we will refund all or some of your payment.
We then keep the information we have researched for you on file and it is then available to future people who may be researching your names too. Many times we have put people in touch with other researchers of their own trees.
Our research people do so much more work than you would realise to help you in your search for information. Please feel confident that everything possible is done by our volunteers to supply you with any relevant information we may have in our library.
The funds raised from your payments for our research, assist us with obtaining further records and to produce indexes etc. for easy access of family details in Bendigo and district.
Payment can be made by cheque or money order made payable to BRGS at our PO Box address.
You can also pay via Bank Transfer. Information is provided on the both the Membership and Research Pages.
You can make initial contact to discuss Research or Membership matters via the contact link at the bottom of this page. Please give clear information in the comments section about your request at the time of sending. Otherwise, print off the appropriate forms and send them with your details and payment to our Post Office Box. Thank You.
